![]() The court serves a population of nearly six million people. In all but a few cases, it is the court of last resort for these appeals. These courts are located in southwest Florida and include The Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco counties), the Tenth Judicial Circuit (Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties), The Twelfth Judicial Circuit (Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto counties), The Thirteenth Judicial Circuit (Hillsborough County), and The Twentieth Judicial Circuit (Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hendry and Glades counties). It hears appeals of trial court decisions from five of Florida's twenty judicial circuits. The Second District Court of Appeal is one of the busiest appellate courts in the Nation and has a distinctive record of efficiency.
